A TEAM OF KNIGHTS OF MALTA SPEAK UP
IN SUPPORT OF CARDINAL BURKE
ON HIS HEROIC 'DUBIA'
As Knights of the Sovereign and Military Order of Malta and Auxiliaries, who have pledged to defend the Catholic, the Apostolic, the Roman Faith, we express our full support to the heroic stand taken by our Cardinal Patron, His Eminence Raymond Cardinal Burke.
We take this initiative to support Cardinal Burke in our own name as individual Knights, since the Order of Malta has not yet issued any official statement about His Eminence's initiative.
Our Cardinal Patron, together with three other Princes of the Church, have requested of the Vicar of Christ on Earth, His Holiness Pope Francis, to clarify the ambiguous teaching about marriage in his letter Amoris Letitia, a teaching that has caused confusion in the Church today.
In fact, many — including bishops and priests — have interpreted the papal teaching to mean that it is admissible to allow any remarried divorcees —without an annulment — to receive Holy Communion.
To date, the Holy See has not issued any statement to correct this gravely wrong interpretation or to clarify the teaching.
Any faithful Catholic can see that this matter is very serious, as it involves the gravely mortal sins of adultery and of sacrilege, because whoever receives the Eucharist in an unworthy manner incurs judgement, that is, condemnation, according to Saint Paul (1 Cor 11: 27-30).
His Eminence and his fellow-Cardinals have asked Pope Francis to put into practice Jesus’ clear teaching: “Let your message be 'Yes' for 'Yes' and 'No' for 'No.' Anything more than that comes from the evil one" (Mt 5:37).
Join us in expressing support for Cardinal Burke’s Fidelity to his mission as Adviser of the Pope, and on the necessity to dispel the doctrinal confusion among the faithful, for the greater glory of God and salvation of souls.
